Jaguar has taken the wraps off the 2018 XF Sportbrake, a new station wagon that will hit the North American market.
Under the hood, a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 making 380 horsepower will hustle the Sportbrake from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, and so far is the only engine announced for the new wagon.
The most important aspect of any station wagon, cargo storage, is present, with 31.7-cu-ft available behind the second row of seats and more than 60 with the seats folded flat. Some new technology has been introduced with this new wagon as well, like a gesture-controlled sunblind for the large panoramic sunroof, a waterproof key fob, a cabin air ionization system to keep the air clean and even a monitoring system to make sure the driver isn’t tired.
Jaguar redesigned the XF in 2015, bringing the extensive use of aluminum into the fold to help the large sedan lose weight.
The XF Sportbrake was revealed at Wimbledon by tennis star Andy Murray. Jaguar is entering its third season as the official car of the famous tennis tournament and will supply this year’s installment with 170 shuttle vehicles.
